In 1995, a team of insurance professionals decided to launch a new company.
With their roots in rural life, they saw that farming and agricultural businesses weren’t getting specialist expertise and service. Times were changing. Not just in agriculture, but throughout the rural economy.
New technologies and innovations were emerging across all sectors, and savvy rural business owners were identifying the opportunities this revolution presented, never standing still. But to move forwards with confidence, they needed an insurance partner that understood this new frontier. So, Rural Insurance was born.
Forward-thinking isn’t a new concept for us. It’s been a part of how we do business from day one. Our founders brought with them a wealth of knowledge of the agricultural sector and, crucially, a passion for collaboration – to look outside of the industry for ways to improve on the status quo, and to support ambition within it. It’s these founding principles that continue to guide us, over 20 years later.
Collaboration starts with the quality of the relationships we’ve built over our history. We continue to invest in those relationships, just like we always have. From our capacity providers to our loss adjustors, we ensure the partners we choose to work with see the rural landscape through the same optimistic lens. We also recognise how crucial our broker partners are to the success of our business, and how they’ve been with us every step of the way. They’re ambitious like us, and share our vision of a rural economy that leads the way in diversification and innovation.
Agriculture will always be at our beating heart, and has laid the foundations for what Rural Insurance has become today. But we know the rural economy is constantly evolving, and the nature of businesses that operate within it are changing too.
In 2016, we rebranded to reflect our commitment to support the continually evolving rural economy. Where others protect against the risk brought about by change, we focus on supporting the opportunity it presents. We always have, and always will.
